Shooters in hot early National Queens form
Several Queensland shooters were in hot early form as the 2017 National Queens got under way in near ideal condition at Brisbane’s Belmont range.
Nathan Johnson from Brisbane Mariners won the F Standard class in the two day President’s Match, dropping just a single shot over the seven ranges for an aggregate 419.34.
The F Target Rifle class was won by Jason Mayers from Brisbane with 417.34.
Bendigo shooter Geoff Grenfell was the Target Rifle winner with an aggregate 349.43 from Duncan Davies of West Wallsend on 348.44.

Kiwi visitor snares Natives titles
New Zealand shooter Brian Carter made a bold showing to win the 2017 Natives Prize Meeting.
The two-day event attracted a class field of shooters leading into a big week of competition at the Belmont Range.
Following the final Commonwealth Games trial, and the President’s lead-up, the National Queens Prize will be shot from this Friday through to Sunday.
Brian, from TePuke Rifle Club in the North Island, is also taking part in a NZ Commonwealth Games selection trial and the National Queens at Belmont.

Double for Darren at Bundaberg
Australian representative shooter Darren Enslin showed his class in collecting a trophy double against high quality competition at the 2017 Bundaberg Burnett Rifle Club Open Prize Meeting.
The Pacific Rifle Club member, posted the only possible 200 score, hitting all 40 bulllseyes over four ranges from 300 to 600 yards on Saturday, June 3.

We congratulate Charles Arrowsmith (Biloela RC) on winning the NQRA Queens Prize Aggregate. Charles finished on 248.27, ahead Matt Pozzebon (University of Queensland RC) 247.34 and Ben Picton (Goondiwindi RC) 247.27.
